Ecological and Bat Surveys Bookmark and Share

Ecological Surveys

The Planning System is placing far more importance on ecological issues nowadays.

Whilst arboriculture as a discipline does not cover ecology, trees are an inherent part of the equation. As such, JCA often organise such survey work via our partners who are multidisciplinary practitioners.

We provide the Ecological Services below:

  • Phase 1 Habitat Surveys
  • Hedgerow Assessment and Translocation
  • Habitat Translocation
  • Badger Surveys
  • Conservation Management Plans
  • Ornithological Surveys
  • Reptile Surveys
  • Otter Surveys
  • Freshwater and Crayfish Surveys
  • Great Crested Newt Surveys

Bat Surveys

JCA arrange many Bat and Bat Habitat Surveys around the UK.

It is an offence for any person to:

  • Intentionally kill, injure or take a bat.
  • Possess or control a live or dead bat, any part of a bat, or anything derived from a bat.
  • Intentionally or recklessly damage, destroy or obstruct access to any place that a bat uses for shelter or protection.
  • Intentionally or recklessly disturb a bat while it is occupying a structure or place that it uses for shelter or protection.
