JCA has dealt with over 4000 tree related subsidence cases for a range of leading insurers, loss adjusters and consulting engineers.

Our comprehensive services for tree related subsidence claims include specialized arboricultural survey, heave assessment, root identification, management/supervision of tree works contracts (including installation of root barriers), risk assessment for local authority street trees, and expert witness service for litigating claims.

Arboricultural Survey for Subsidence Claims

Our subsidence survey report is competitively priced and generally completed within 15 to 20 working days of instruction. The report is a comprehensive and easy to read document with a clear, colour plan usually printed at 1:200 scale. Digital photographs are supplied to help illustrate particular trees or problems.

Heave Assessment

Heave, an upward movement of the ground resulting from soil rehydration following tree removal, is a possibility in some cases but it is not common. Potential for heave depends on the age of the building compared with the age of the tree, the nature of the soil and how close the tree is. We are happy to provide advice regarding heave and where appropriate provide a comprehensive heave assessment.
